Through funding at the University of Toronto from Medicine by Design, we have brought together a group of multidisciplinary experts to explore how electrical stimulation can be harnessed for neural repair. These experts comprise of national, international and early career scientists, as well as trainees and technology transfer officers. The purpose of this group is to bring electrical stimulation from tissue regeneration cellular studies to the relevant accessible therapies. We aim to develop novel, economically feasible approaches for ensuring that the electrical stimulation-based therapeutics are accessible and will improve the quality of life of those suffering from neurological disorders.
